What is Chaat?

Chaat is Indian Street Food and literally means "to lick." Traditionally, this road-side snack was served on a leaf and was so tongue-tickling that one could not resist licking the last morsels from the leaf before discarding it.

Vik's Chaat has proudly been serving chaat for over 20 years and has become a Bay Area institution. Vik's offers many regional chaat dishes from Gujarat, Bengal, Punjab, Maharashtra, and other parts of India.

Why a spork?

Indian food is meant to be eaten with your hands.  Most food served at Vik’s contain curries, chutneys and yogurt, so eating with just your hands can be tricky.  Spoons help get to the curries and such while the fork can be helpful in breaking off a piece of tandoori chicken or cutting into a kathi roll, both tasks can be accomplished with a spork!  Vik’s has been using sporks since its inception and moving away from sporks would just be “un-Vik’s” of us.  Help reduce waste, support the spork.
