Based on the Wilson Reading System® principles, Wilson Fundations® provides research-based materials and strategies essential to a comprehensive reading, spelling, and handwriting program. Wilson Fundations makes learning to read fun while laying the groundwork for life-long literacy.
How many levels of Fundations are there?
Fundations presents all skills in a systematic and sequential manner in four Levels: Level K, Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3. Each Level provides a year-long curriculum.

Is Fundations scripted? Although Fundations is a scripted program, there is leeway in the curriculum to build the lessons and support my students with where they need additional supports and what they are successful in. This allows students to review the sounds the do know and see new skills in a different format.

Does Fundations have a placement test?
When Fundations is exclusively implemented as a Tier 2, early intervention program, teachers can use the Intervention Placement Inventory to determine which Fundations Level a student should begin with (K, 1, or 2). The Intervention Placement Inventory provides a quick assessment of: letter names.
What is a Fundations® level-specific workshop?
Each Fundations® Level-specific Virtual Launch workshop and in-person Fundations® Level-specific workshop provides the practice and guidance needed to effectively begin teaching the Fundations curriculum for the designated Level (s). Teachers should attend the workshop Level that corresponds to the program Level being implemented.

Do you offer Fundations workshops at aim?
We are excited to once again offer Fundations ® workshops at AIM. Fundations ® is a supplemental, research-based program designed to reduce reading and spelling failure for students in kindergarten through third grade. It is used as a ‘prevention’ program in general education classrooms (Tier 1) to give all students a strong foundation.
What are the prerequisites for attending a Fundations intervention workshop?
Completion of a Fundations Level-specific workshop is a prerequisite. Please note the two-day Fundations Intervention Workshop is not currently available in a virtual format by Wilson.
